Micro-Affirmations by Anna Giraldo-Kerr (Color Magazine USA)

Mary Rowe, Adjunct Professor of Negotiation and Conflict Management and Ombudsperson at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, has been studying this phenomenon for nearly forty years. In a paper published in 2008 in the Journal of the International Ombudsman, Dr. Rowe defines micro-affirmations as “apparently small acts, which are often ephemeral and hard to see, events that are public and private, often unconscious but very effective, which occur wherever people wish to help others to succeed.”
